Funeral Director in Rufford
Posted on by
Hardman Funerals have served as a funeral director in Rufford for over 90 years. As you can imagine, our current directors have documented many changes over the years. One trend that is becoming more prevalent is individuals taking charge of their own funeral planning during their lifetime. We understand that’s not for everybody. However, if that’s your inclination, rest assured you are part of this growing trend. Some see it as their personal responsibility on a par with the multitude of other personal decisions they have made throughout their life. One way people take charge of their own funeral is with instructions as part of their will or in a letter left to a loved one. That’s very helpful to those left in charge of your final arrangements. They don’t have to second guess if their own decisions would meet your approval.
Some are more hands-on when managing their own funeral arrangements. In Rufford, our funeral director offers a pre-planning arrangement to individuals. They come to our office and we go through the complete list of choices surviving family members usually are responsible for. With our guidance the,y choose their own casket, purchase a burial plot, and choose whether they will have a religious or secular service and where that service will take place. They may appoint someone to officiate at their funeral or select speakers. The decisions regarding visitation, funeral cars, flowers and music are all made by the individual. Their obituary is self-written and on file with the rest of their funeral plans.
As their funeral director in Rufford, we can address funeral costs directly with the individual planning their own funeral. They choose the cost they are willing to have spent on their funeral and from where those funds should be drawn. Some prepay so everything is settled in advance. Self-planning, as we said, is not for everybody. We would recommend it to those who are living and working outside the country. We can handle the repatriation of their remains and their final wishes. That’s a great burden family members will not have to bear. Contact Hardman Funerals when the need for a funeral director presents itself. Each funeral is as unique as the individual being honoured so together we can plan just the right life-honouring event.
